NWT Environmental Audit:
The NWT Environmental Audit,
conducted at least once every five
years, is an independent review of:
- information to determine trends in
environmental quality;
- factors contributing to environmental
change;
- the effectiveness of the NWT CIMP;
- the effectiveness of land, water and waste regulations
on the protection of key environmental components; and
- responses to the recommendations of previous
environmental audits.
The audit is required by the Sahtu, Gwich'in and
Tlicho final agreements and by the Mackenzie Valley Resource
Management Act.
